Together,
We Are Park City Mountain

Park City Mountain has reached an agreement with the Park City ski patrol union that is consistent with our company’s wage structure for all patrollers, non-unionized and unionized, while accounting for the unique terrain and avalanche complexity of Park City Mountain. This agreement ends the patrol union strike.

We look forward to welcoming back the Park City Mountain patrollers and moving forward together as one team. We apologize to our guests who were impacted by this strike and are incredibly grateful to our team who worked hard to keep the mountain open and operating safely over the past two weeks.

Upcoming terrain priorities at Park City Mountain include Tombstone, Dream Peak and McConkey's. Snowmaking this week will continue on the Town runs and will include Silver Star, Doc's and Lookout Ridge as the Park City Mountain operations team continues to open the terrain that can be opened safely with the people they have each day.

FACTS ABOUT THE AGREEMENT

  • The union's original proposal included significant wage and benefit increases that went far beyond $2/hour and that were structured differently than our company’s compensation and benefits framework.
  • Base wages for returning Park City Mountain patrollers went up 3%, consistent with what all other employees across the company have received for the year. The entry-level, base wage start rate for patrollers remains $21/hour.
  • Additional wage increases in this agreement focus on skills-based pay that recognize Park City Mountain’s unique terrain and avalanche complexity.
  • Our wage structure for patrollers starts with base wages by career level. Patrollers can earn more with skills-based pay. This varies by individual based on level, acquired skills, and performance.
  • Any increases, aside from the 3% merit increase for returning patrollers, is coming from skills-based pay, including mountain terrain complexity.
  • When we make decisions about our team members’ pay, we consider all our team members across all our mountain resorts. We are pleased with the agreement reached with the union because it aligns with how we reward our employees.
